ComForeCare Rolling Out Private-Duty Nursing to Expand Franchise Services

Soon ComForCare in-home care franchise owners will have a valuable new service to offer their clients, thanks to plans to roll out private-duty nursing throughout the entire franchise system.

Adding private-duty nursing will greatly expand ComForCare’s suite of services, allowing franchise owners and their caregivers to engage with clients and their families in a more holistic way — and at more points along the continuum to care, according to CEO Steve Greenbaum.

STRENGTHENING TRANSITION OF CARE MODEL

Adding this level of in-home skilled care will strengthen every ComForCare franchise’s ability to offer a more seamless transition of care to and from the home environment. It also adds a needed service, and one that will set ComForCare in-home care franchises apart.

“We’re expanding our own private-duty nursing program within ComForCare, [and] we’re looking at businesses in the area of home repairs and modifications to allow people to safely age in their homes,” Greenbaum recently told Home Health Care News. “We’re looking at hospice and palliative care businesses and businesses that will functionally support seniors and aging adults at every stage and need in their lives. Having a suite of services, with products and services for any need and every need [seniors] may have, that is the key differentiator,” Greenbaum said.

PRIVATE-DUTY NURSING ACCREDITATION GROWS OPPORTUNITIES

Current ComForCare franchise owners, as well as those who are joining the brand, will be working over the next three to five years to build private-duty nursing, including accreditation, into their businesses. Then they will be aggressively offering the service alongside ComForCare’s many other differentiators for seniors and others who require in-home care assistance, which is expected to help build relationships with community health systems and Medicare Advantage plans looking for qualified in-home care partners to manage a wide range of clients.

“Private-duty nursing is the future of our business,” Greenbaum said. “We are aligning home care with the processes and standards of certified home health agencies to elevate the level of care we can provide our clients and broaden the reach and impact of much-needed services.”

ComForCare is a successful, multifaceted business offering peace of mind and improved quality of life for aging adults and their families by providing support with everyday tasks, and holistic care enhancement programs such as Joyful Memories®, an interactive singalong activity that uses the power of music to create connections and positive outlets for emotional expression.

Q&A with Lori Vrcan, Franchisee of CarePatrol (Franchise Chatter)

Lori Vrcan, Franchisee of Charlotte, South Carolina, previously worked with a national senior living community as a sales and marketing manager. In that position, she was most impressed with her interactions with CarePatrol. Each client referred was pre-qualified and a good fit for the senior living community in terms of needs, budget and personal interests. After she and her husband Todd did further research, they decided not only would buying a CarePatrol franchise be a great investment, but it was a meaningful change and the opportunity to work together and help seniors.
